PF03 South Coast Martello Tower Moat
GB, Coastal Fortification, 1800
Over 150 Martello towers were built along the East and South coasts of England and Ireland between 1790 and 1800 to protect against invasion by the French. Modelled on a tower in Mortella Bay, Corsica, they were short and squat with massively thick brick-built walls.

Some towers were built with a surrounding dry moat - formed by building a circular wall a distance from the tower and heaping earth outside it to form a glacis.

The moat model is a free download model that assembles into a moat structure for either the East or South coast Martello Tower models.

YOU MUST PURCHASE THE TOWER MODEL SEPARATELY.
