Description
The THV ALert is a buoy tender and rapid intervention vessel operated by Trinity House, the General Lighthouse Authority in England and Wales. She is based in Harwich and is on standby to cover the busy English Channel and approaches to London. The THV Alert was built in Poland in 2005.
The THV Alert is small, manoeuvrable and has a working deck aft with associated buoy, towing winch and other equipment. She is able quickly attend incidents, locate wrecks and other hazards and mark them with buoys to keep the shipping lanes safe.
When not deployed or on standby, she is able to place and maintain buoys and other navigation aides..
