Description
The TSS Earnslaw is a small passenger steamer built in 1912 in Dunedin, New Zealand. She was built to provide transport links for the many settlements around the shore of Lake Waikatipu and served in this role until the railway was built along the lake shore.
She is still steaming round the lake – only now as a tourist ship, carrying thousands of passengers a year on sight-seeing trips. A floating testament to the pure waters of the lake and her original constructors is the fact she is still running with her original boilers and machinery.
