Description
The SS Nomadic was ordered by the White Star Line in 1911 to act as a tender to liners visiting the port of Cherbourg. She was built at the Harland and Wolf shipyard in Belfast, Northern Ireland and among the liners she served was both the RMS Olympic and her fated sister-ship the Titanic.
After many years service the SS Nomadic was sold and used for a number of years as a floating restuarant and night club in Paris. Eventually put up for sale and in danger of being scrapped, she was rescued and returned to Belfast where she has been restored to her original appearance. She is the only surviving ship owned by the White star line.
