SKU: NPJ001 Categories: ,

Description

The roll-on-roll-off ferry Apollo was launched in 1970 at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg – the first of 9 near-sister-ships known as the “Papenberg Sisters”. She sailed initially for the Viking Line between Finland and Sweden from 1970 to 1976 before sailing a number of other routes – including Portsmouth to the Channel Islands as the Corbiere. When originally built she could carry 1,200 passengers and 260 cars.

This model of Apollo is a digitised version of an unpublished design by the late German designer Nils-Peter Jaechel and every effort has been made to be faithful to his original creation. The model has been published with the approval of the designer’s family and is a joint project by David Hathaway and Klaus Hildebrand. The model is available as either a printed model or as a downloadable PDF.

Instruction diagrams and German building instructions are included.
