Description
The THV Vectis was built in 1991 as an inshore buoy tender and workboat for the Corporation of Trinity House, who are responsible for lighthouses and other aids to navigation round the coast of England and Wales. Based mainly in the South East (Dover and Harwich), her on-board, 2-ton capacity crane and shallow draught made her ideally suited for work in those places the larger buoy tenders simply could not get to.
She was sold in 2006 following a review of requirements that led to the commissioning of the new rapid intervention vessel, THV Alert, and is now working as an inshore survey vessel.
